Surf Instructor Leadership Training


The “SILT”program consists of a cohort of 8 to 10 high school students who have previously participated with City Surf Project. Along with fulfilling community service hours, you will gain outdoor leadership skills, lifeguarding skills, CPR training, assist with surf instructing, and be part of our team for summer 2018.
This year we will be going on a 5 day backpacking and surfing trip in Point Reyes National Seashore from June 17th – June 22nd. This year SILTS will also be receiving a stipend (payment to be determined).

Overview

What are the Qualifications?

  • Participated with City Surf Project at least once
  • Must be able to swim comfortably in the ocean
  • Must have some knowledge of surfing and surf equipment
  • Must be in high school grades 9th-12th
  • Must be familiar with and exemplify the three pillars of City Surf Project

What is the Time Commitment?

  • Mandatory week of training June 17th- June 22nd- Sunday – Friday overnight
  • Be at 4 weeks minimum of summer camp as a surf instructor
