We experienced yet another great summer surf session! Students from all over the Bay Area made friends with each other quickly and bonded over their newfound love for the beach. Our first day was spent at Crissy Field where we all practiced our pop ups and paddling. We finished the first day with a relay race and a game of beach flags. We were fortunate to have fantastic weather during our second day at Ocean Beach. Before getting out on the water, everyone grabbed boards and enjoyed surfing down the sand dunes. Eager participants then proceeded to jump in the water and catch their first waves. The third day was at Half Moon Bay. The kids surfed the entire time. When asked if he wanted to take a break, six-year-old Mason replied by exclaiming “why would I take a break on the last day!” It was such a fun week. Thanks to all of our volunteers and participants who helped make this week as great as it was!
