Ten Years of Ensuring Equitable Access to the Ocean and Surfing.

Since our inception, we have introduced over 3000 youth to surfing.

Surfing engages youth with the natural world, boosts self-confidence, and improves social and emotional learning skills, and builds community. We focus on youth who have not historically been represented in surf culture to work towards diversifying the line-up.

Our Programs

All of our programs support youth in San Francisco who may not otherwise have the opportunities to experience swimming lessons, ocean recreation, stewardship activities, and environmental education.

Leadership Development

CSP offers day trips for school groups & community partners that introduce students to surfing. We also operate year-round, weekly surf programs as alternative Physical Education credits and before and after-school programming for students.

Youth Surfing

City Surf Project offers two leadership development tracks for high school and transitional aged youth. Students learn how to be surf instructors, receive leadership training, and skill development.
