10 YEARS OF CITY SURF PROJECT
At City Surf Project, we envision a city where everyone, no matter where they grew up, went to school, or what they look like, feels like they belong at the beach. Our programs are so much more than just a series of surf outings. They’re a safe space for students to learn a challenging new skill together, get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and build community with their peers. As one of our Alumni Surf Coaches, Isaiah, shared recently:
“CSP makes space for each student to pursue their passions and encourages them to be the best they can to achieve their dreams.”
With your help, we know that these next 10 years will be transformative for City Surf Project and the youth that we serve. We have ambitious plans to deepen our impact and grow more roots in our community. In 2025, we will:
Increase our reach: serve more students with cognitive and physical disabilities.
Expand our relationships with schools: add a weekly Surfing 101 program to another public school.
Deepen connections with our students: increase engagement with students, creating a comprehensive pathway for at least five past participants to be hired as Alumni Surf Coaches each year.
CSP provides our students with everything they need to get in the water, from transportation and wetsuits to snacks and relatable surf coaches to push them into their first waves. This would not be possible without the strong support from our community! As our programs have expanded, so have our needs. This holiday season we hope to raise $150,000 to help us as we work to increase in our reach, expand our relationships with schools, and deepen our connections with students in 2025. With the generous support of our community over the last 10 years, we’ve been able to serve over 3,000 youth through over 1,300 surf outings. In the next 10 years, we are on course to serve more than 4,000 young people, but we need your support to make these aspirations a reality!
